Behind the Lens

Welcome—and thank you for taking the time to be here.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I always had a camera in my hand. That early curiosity, paired with a deep connection to nature and the outdoors eventually led me to Franklin Pierce University in the heart of New Hampshire, where I graduated in 2017 with a concentration in Media Production. That technical foundation continues to ground my work today.

After college, I took a leap and launched my first business, Sunflower Photography—a project that brought together two of my biggest passions: music and visual storytelling. That chapter led to unforgettable experiences, including working behind the scenes at a major music festival, collaborating with musicians, and capturing the energy and emotion of live performances up close.

Over time, my focus naturally shifted toward something more intimate: documenting real human connection. Weddings, family portraits, and personal milestones offered a deeper way to tell stories—through quiet moments, subtle gestures, and emotions that often go unnoticed. That evolution felt personal and honest, which led me to rebrand as Pat Delaney Photography, putting my name and my relationship with the people I photograph at the center of the work.

Since photographing my first wedding in 2018, I’ve had the privilege of documenting over 60 celebrations throughout Connecticut and New England—from backyard ceremonies to large-scale events. No matter the setting, my approach remains the same: show up with calm intention, earn trust, and document the day as it genuinely unfolds.

Outside of photography my life is rooted in creativity, nature, and community. In 2024 I founded a small organic farm in Pomfret, Connecticut, where I grow produce and care for goats and chickens. I also run Ajna Sound Healing, a practice I began in 2019 after discovering the powerful impact of sound through crystal bowls, flutes, gongs, and voice. Time spent outdoors—whether hiking New England trails, making music, or working the land—keeps me grounded and present.

These pursuits aren’t separate from my photography; they shape how I work. They’ve taught me patience, awareness, and the importance of listening. They remind me that every relationship, every celebration, and every story has its own rhythm.

At its core, my work is about more than photographs. It’s about connection, presence, and preserving moments in a way that feels honest and true to the people living them.

I’d love to learn about your story—and it would be an honor to help you capture it.
